General Maintenance Plumber

Responsibilities: Perform plumbing aspects of some new construction projects, preventative maintenance and repairs of all Zoo plumbing systems. Maintain, install and repair water lines, sewer lines, fixtures and appliances at the Zoo.  Work closely with internal departments to solve any and all plumbing needs.  Assist the Foreman and Supervisor with the daily records, including but not limited to work orders, purchase orders, email correspondence, contractor correspondence and other documents as needed.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required.  Technical degree in plumbing required. Must have knowledge of applicable codes.  Must have knowledge and skill in pipe-fitting, plumbing repairs, and associated tools and equipment.  Must have the physical ability to perform required duties as assigned, which include standing for long periods of time, working in all types of weather conditions, kneeling, bending, lifting and squatting down. Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs. St. Louis City Plumbing License preferred. Valid driver’s license required.  All successful candidates for this position will be required to submit to a criminal background check and drug test.
