Bob Wengel began his career at Shedd Aquarium in Chicago as a maintenance carpenter in 1995. Since that time, he has built his reputation as a champion of sustainability and conservation, and was named “Facility Executive of the Year” by Today’s Facility Manager in 2012. He is currently working with the City of Chicago to create Shedd’s Master Energy Roadmap, which aims to make the aquarium the first clean-energy-powered cultural institution by 2020.
