BENEFITS AND WORK SCHEDULE

The schedule will vary depending on the time of year and events at the zoo. During the off-season hours will but back significantly while working more hours from March to November while the zoo is open. This position starts at $13.00hr.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ASSISTANT BUILDING & GROUNDS MANAGER
The Assistant Building and Grounds Manager plans, organizes and supervises the daily maintenance of fixtures, furnishings, horticultural and landscape forms and features of the assigned facilities, supervises building operating services including custodial cleaning and maintenance; movement of freight and mail within the facility; loading dock operations; installation and maintenance of lawns, plantings and other horticultural features; and/or maintenance of parking areas and access ways.

QUALIFICATIONS OF AN ASSISTANT BUILDING & GROUNDS MANAGER
• Ability to lead, motivate, and manage work teams to support organizational objectives and goals.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize work effectively and show flexibility with daily responsibilities showing the ability to problem solve with minimal guidance.
• Ability to interact positively with a wide array of individuals from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills, and presentation delivery ability.
• Computer literacy and basic knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, and project management software.
• Must have the ability to organize and manage multiple tasks while prioritizing work in a logical manner.
• Must have a valid driving license.
• Ability to work variety of shifts depending on time of year.
