Director of Capital Projects
Under direction of the Chief Operations Officer (COO), develops strategic plans and business model implementation of the planning and development – Capital and Seattle Park District (SPD) funded projects. Leads, prioritizes, directs, manages and provides oversight for activities, operations, and functions of the department. Leads the development and management of the departments management team and the creation of capital project strategies. Coordinates assigned activities with other departments, programs, and outside agencies; and provides highly responsible and complex organizational support to the COO and other Zoo leadership. Works closely with other departments and external agencies or partners to ensure that all capital projects meet the Zoo’s mission and goals.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid WA State driver’s license required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The position requires an ability to walk or transit across the 92-acre facility in variable weather conditions and enter non-public behind the scenes staff areas. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear; stand, walk and/or sit; and use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to inspect construction sites. The employee will need to be able to climb ladders and access difficult terrain for the purpose of inspecting work and analyzing existing conditions. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
