Position Title: HVAC Technician – Oregon Zoo

Salary: $25.52 – $32.56 hourly

Position Summary:
Entry rate: $25.52; 6 months: $27.12; 18 months: $28.84; 30 months: $30.65; 42 months: $32.56/hour.
This position will work Monday – Friday

Performs, designs, and coordinates Oregon Zoo’s technical maintenance functions and repairs for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Refrigeration and Potable water filtration, or, other complex, technical equipment; and is responsible for developing the Zoo’s overall technical HVAC/R support systems, equipment, purchasing, contractor, emergency service, records, shop, and safety. Responsibilities include installation, alteration, preventive maintenance and quality assurance as well as interfaces with curators and animal keepers, contractors, and other maintenance staff.

Minimum Requirements:
Trade certification or equivalent and five years progressively responsible experience. Possession of a valid driver’s license.  Within six months the ability to obtain the LEB and any other certifications and licenses that may be required.

Possession of the Universal Refrigerants License is strongly preferred.  If the selected candidate does not possess this certification, it would be required within the first six months of hire.
