Plumber

CMS Plumber: This is a full time non-exempt position. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Facilities & Safety. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform plumbing related tasks on aquatic life support systems, facility sanitary systems, heating & cooling systems, pumps, valves, and other mechanical equipment. Proven expertise at oxygen & acetylene cutting, brazing and soldering. Proven expertise with solvent welding of pressurized PVC piping systems and cast iron piping systems. Skilled at welding preferred but not required. Assist other CMS trades personnel with construction and maintenance related projects.

Qualifications:

Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship, trade school or military training equivalent is preferred but not required.
Have the ability to acquire a City of Chattanooga Journeyman Plumbers license.
Have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Good knowledge of fluid hydraulic pumping systems.
Have the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Dependable worker with good communication skills and the ability to work weekends is required.
A minimum of two years work experience as a plumber in a construction or maintenance environment.
Requires a post hiring physical for approved use of a respirator.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

There are no supervisor responsibilities for this position.

Working conditions:

This position will perform work within climate controlled spaces and non-climate controlled areas to include outside with some exposure to the elements.
Work will also be performed in confined spaces and at heights requiring access with ladders and aerial lifts.
