John Kanzia is the Environmental Quality Manager at the Chicago Zoological Society’s Brookfield Zoo just outside Chicago, IL. He has been with the Chicago Zoological Society and AZFA since 2006, and also worked at the John G. Shedd Aquarium as a Water Quality Technologist from 1999 to 2006. John has a BAS in Biological Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and over twenty years of experience in water quality monitoring. His current Environmental Quality Program at the Chicago Zoological Society takes a comprehensive look at the zoo’s exhibitry, including water quality, indoor air quality, exhibit lighting, sound monitoring, and more. With an arsenal of over thirty different instruments, John is a regular “gadget guy”.
John currently chairs the Site Selection Sub-Committee, serves on the Membership and Publications & Web Site Committees, and is also the AZFA Web Site Administrator.
